Contura Energy is a leading coal supplier with underground and surface coal mining complexes across Northern and Central Appalachia. Contura owns large coal basins in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia which supply both metallurgical coal to produce steel and thermal coal to generate power.

Contura has a stressful and toxic working environment, there are unclear expectations and favoritism between staff, poor planning and no standards, according to a review by an actual employee at indeed.com

"Constant stress and no standards. Planning and experience suck. Favoritism to certain people. Expectations are unclear. Drama and gossip more important than task at hand."
